incidentally, that little video I posted... only has one track in the mixer (1 and the master fader, cause if you duplicate a track that is not shown mixer... then it duplicates hidden form the mixer...
thanks for the look.
many greetings.

I'll post the link to the vid if anyone needs clarification

And I think this also. I just did a Remix in Reaper yesterday, and was very happy that I was able to speed up the tempo and the vocals stayed intact and sounded better than the pro-tools elastic audio, dare I say better than the Melodyne algos which is where I think all of it comes from.
I'm tempted to post the remix here. I probably will a little later, to let you guys hear how good the elastic audio is in Reaper. God Damn it's good. I sped the song up like 20 or 30 BPM and it sounds ree donk ulously natural.
Who ever had the idea to add sound touch or whatever that Elastik PRO algo is
YOU
FUCKING
KILLED
IT.
Thanks. Can we get the stuff below too Justin.

Of course, what envelopes you are "viewing" can be different, and that would be the next simplifying feature request:
"Solo View Envelope", maybe add it the current existing right-click dialog?
P.S.:
Just a small "tip" guys, you can use "Empty Items" to enclose envelopes (with envelope object lock enabled) and get close to the ease demonstrated here by larry. I do this all the time actually. It's a small step, yes, but for me a useful one nonetheless. Now if we could just "copy" and paste these objects and have envelope points also copy. And of course, native support of envelope-to-midiCC... OK, I think it's clear, and I'm just echoing what everyone is saying/thinking, but I've just started to try and use midi and these points ARE the big hurdles for me, so I thought I'd share my opinions. OK, bye...

Does a reference track do that a regular duplicate doesn't? If you don't want it to show up in the Mixer, then make sure the source track doesn't.
As for the Automation on separate tracks... I, personally love the Show envelopes in separate lanes when x Pixels high! i like to be able to mod-mousewheel my zoom level and display the automation, or hide it again, and not have to click around to remember which track it points to.
I agree, that these two feature requests are essential:
Copy and paste envelope points with items, when Options: Move envelope points with media items is enabled!!!!
and Convert automation to midi CC.
Greetings,
T

I guess this could be done with empty (of audio) items/lanes so you out them in parallel with audio items/lanes on whatever position and tracks

Anyone opposed to me grouping this thread as "Automation Clips/Items" on the FR tracker?
!group "Automation Clips/Items"

envelopes per iten
I think the "per iten" thing is a great way of thinking
you get the most of flexibility
just as we can add fx in individual itens - which is awesome - controllin individuals envelopes would be cool as well

Hi,
There is already a (known) workaround.
The only drawback is that if the plugin has not yet MIDI CC controls you will have to assign first some MIDI CC to the VST parameters you want to automate.
After, it is simple :
- insert a new MIDI item on the same track where you already have the audio items
- draw the CC curves you want in the MIDI editor
- it's all !
You can drag, copy, stretch the automation datas, group the automation items together with the audio items etc.
A semi transparent MIDI item would be appreciated, but it is already wonderful when used in a free item position track.
(if only we could see several controller lanes at the same time !)

++1 for being being able to make automation as items, and move them around!
|
+100000000000000000
it could be so easy:
just copy the track you want to automate to directly below, create an empty item of whatever lenght, and paint the automation into it ... i just don`t understand why exept logic no other host provides this ...
i personally hate trackbased automation, item based is just so much more flexible ...
